What it is...
Double figure 8 grease prooved pins.
Which means...
More wear life and better lubrication.
So...
Fewer repairs and greater savings.
(Talk about the benefits)...
Grease grooved pin and bushing provides 300% more grease capacity. Steel on steel provides more wear life.
Grease grooved steel bushing assembled in steel sleeve with Kaiser engineered seals each end. Bushing assembly with seals in each end keeps the grease in and the dirt out. Can be greased time after time without fail. Engineered seals in the bushing assembly keeps the grease in and working. Grooved steel bushings provide more grease, better lubrication and less chance of a failure.
No reaming - drive out old, clean eye, drive in new. Repairs made on the vehicle without removing the spring. Repair time reduced by 50%. Bushing assembly can be installed without reaming. Work can be done with spring on the vehicle to save labor down time. Repairs can be done in one-half the time.
SALES TOOLS COMBINED DEMO KIT DK-100
The Qwik Kit King pin demo includes a grease grooved king pin and provides hands-on installation of the spiral steel bushing in a bore. The spring pin demo is made up of a bushing assembly and a grease grooved spring pin. The Kaiser PLUS king pin demo illustrates the curvilinear pin feature with a no ream bronze bushing.
LITERATURE

  • Brochure
  • Cross Reference Catalog
  • Bulletins
  • Instruction Sheets
  • "The Spiral Steel Bushing" brochure may be used for all sales needs. At the bottom of the third column (pages 2,3) each feature is repeated as a quick reference.
The "Cross Reference Catalog" is laid out in alphabetical order by truck model. The king pin section is cross referenced with O.E.M. number, pin type, O.E.M. spec., Qwik kit product numbers and Kaiser PLUS product numbers. The spring pin section is cross referenced with pin and bushing dimension, pin location, O.E.M. and Kaiser product numbers. Bulletins provide more technical information on products.
    TIPS FOR MECHANICS

    1. Front spring repairs require the proper tools so that the work can be done on the vehicle without removing the spring.

    • Drive arbors are used to drive out old bushings and drive in Kaiser bushing assemblies without damage.
    • Line-up pins help align spring with hanger so the spring pin can be driven into position without binding and damaging the Kaiser encased seals.

    2. Double check your cross referencing to make sure you have the correct repair kit.

    • Measure old pin if possible, diameter, length and most important, the bolt pattern.
    • Cross "Original Equipment" number to dimensions.
    • Check the pin position against Kaiser cross reference.

    3. The spring Qwik Kit is packaged two pins and two bushing assemblies to a box. The repair of all six locations on a front spring would require 3 kits, 1 kit for both front spring eyes and 1 kit each for shackles (see schematic drawing on page 4).

    4. Aluminum hangers - before installing the bushing assembly in an aluminum hanger clear the bore of dirt, burrs and smooth any gouges. Lubrication is a must so grease the lead end of the bushing assembly. Start the bushing assembly in by hand then drive it in without stopping until it is in position, using a drive arbor.p> 5. After positioning the spring pin and before locking the pin in position, check for side to side movement. A supply of assorted washers should be kept for the purpose of removing side spring movement - X" is acceptable. Any more than that should be shimmed.
