The curvilinear pin has a much larger contact or bearing surface area and more grease capacity. Curvilinear gives more wear life with less repairs over the life of the vehicle.

The Kaiser PLUS King Pin in the combined demo kit provides hands on demonstration of the curvilinear pin in a bushing assembly and also compares the straight pin using the same bushing assembly. The pin in the demo has the curvilinear surface on one end and generic (straight pin) configuration on the other end.

LITERATURE
"A Pin For All Conditions" flyer may be used for all sales needs. The back of the flyer graphically illustrates the effect of wear between the straight pin and the curvilinear pin. The same graphic illustration is used to compare operating temperature between the two pins.

    The "Cross Reference Catalog" is laid out in alphabetical order by truck model. The king pin section is cross referenced with O.E.M. specs, Kaiser Qwik Kit and Kaiser PLUS numbers along with service tool numbers. The Kaiser Qwik Kit spring section is cross referenced with pin and bushing dimensions, pin location, O.E.M. and Kaiser numbers. Kaiser PLUSTM is a king pin application only. Suggest Kaiser spring suspension kits when selling either king pin application (Kaiser Qwik Kit or Kaiser PLUS) for added business..
    TIPS FOR MECHANICS

    1. Bushings are sized at the factory to eliminate line reaming on the job.

    2. A Kaiser bushing driver or comparable driver is a must for trouble free installation. See Service Tool section in cross reference catalog for tools.

    3. Always install BOTTOM BUSHING FIRST with a bushing driver.

    4. Always prepack thrust bearings with grease before installation.

    5. Place the spindle on axle before installing the top bushing. Install the king pin. The top bushing is installed with king pin in place. This is a must! This procedure, though unusual, will speed up the repair without distorting or damaging the bushing.

    6. Check for and remove any burrs that are set up by driving bushings into the bore.

    7. Normal maintenance cycle-always grease before checking king pins for looseness.

    8. Always grease king pins before aligning front end.

    9. Check wheel bearing adjustments.

    10. Check tire pressure and look for unusual tire wear.

    11. Wheel/rim run out-lug nuts, wheel rim clamps.
