Differences In Spring Pin Repair Kits

Spring pin applications can be divided into the following:

  • Straight pins with bronze bushings.
  • Threaded pins with threaded steel bushings.
  • Grease grooved straight pins with spiral steel bushings.
  • Straight pins with needle bearings (shackles only).

    •    Straight pins with bronze bushings lack sufficient grease capacity.
       Threaded pins with threaded steel bushings freeze up from dirt contaminating the grease.
       Kaiser Qwik kit is the only repair kit with grease grooved pins and bushings. The grooving provides more grease capacity and better distribution plus engineered seals to keep the grease in and working. Straight pins with needle bearings are still in the proving process.
