INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

KAISER QWIK KIT SPRING EYE/SHACKLE and BRACKET with ENCASED SEALS - Page 1 of 2

Caution: Kaiser Spiral Steel Bushing Assemblies must be used with Kaiser Grease Grooved Spring Pins
 
A QWIK KIT consists of:
2 - Greased grooved Spring Pins
2 - Kaiser Bushing Assemblies with encased seals

COMPLETE KITS.
1. It is not necessary to remove the spring from truck. Repair one end of a spring at a time. Drive out old bushings with an air impact hammer or hand drive adapter. Inspect and clean eye bore. Remove all grit, dirt, and burrs.
2. Wipe small amount of grease into the spring eye. Start the bushing assembly by hand (either end) into the eye. Drive the bushing assembly into the spring eye until centered in the bore lengthwise using an air impact hammer and drive arbor or hand drive arbor.

3. Wipe small amount of grease on encased seals each end of the bushing assembly. Before completing the assembling, test spring pin in assembly by hand for alignment and fit Always start the end of the pin, opposite the grease fitting hole. The seals will cause the pin to fit tight, however, it can be pushed in by hand. DO NOT FORCE OR HIT HAMMER.
A pin that will not fit usually caused by out or round, grit and dirt in the eye bore. This will distort the bushing assembly enough to cause it to bind with pin. To correct this condition, drive the bushing assembly out the same direction it was driven in. Remove obstruction with emery cloth. rotary file or similar tool. Wipe clean and re-assemble.
