NO-REAM PLUS KIT INSTALLATION for KING PIN STEERING KNUCKLE REPAIRS - Page 2 of 2

INSTALL TOP BUSHING WITH SPINDLE ON AXLE

13. Position the bushing on the end of the KAISER bushing driver that has the short pilot (see illustraton) to prevent damaging the presized bushing while driving it in the bore. Place in bore and drive the bushing in until flush with top of the bore or until driver contacts the top of the king pin. Remove the driver and use a brass drift to finish the installation.

14. Reposition the king pin to align the lock flats and install the lock pins but do not set them.

15. After installing end plates set lock pins in the axle.

16. Contnue with established procedures to complete the assembly.

GREASING

Greasing through end plate: Apply grease to grease fitting in each end plate until grease appears between wear surfaces (axle and spindle).
Side spindle greasing: Apply grease to grease fittings on the side of each bore until grease appears between wear surfaces (axle and spindle).

FINAL INSPECTION

Make a final check of the assembly before placing vehicle in service by moving each spindle side to side. There should be a smooth (no binding) movement. If binding occurs, the assembly should be checked for king pin alignment and spindle bore conditions (parallel alignment and out of round conditions).
