assembly. After the bushing assembly is driven into the spring eye with an air impact hammer and drive adapter, test the pin in bushing assembly for running clearance fit. The pin will have a tight fit because of the encased seals, however, there should be enough clearance to install and remove the pin by hand.
If this cannot be done, DO NOT HIT with hammer - breakage will result. Remove pin and drive out the bushing assembly. This can be done any number of times without damage to the assem- bly. Remove the obstruction and repeat the bushing assembly installation. Raise the spring to the hanger and assemble without any additional work.

Greater Grease Capacity

Kaiser Spring Qwik Kits have a much larger capacity for grease. The bushing has a 360 degree spiral grease groove every 1/2 inch. The pin has a double figure eight grease groove which allows 300% more grease. The combined length of the bushing grease groove, and the pin double figure eight grease groove, totals nearly 4 feet. They crisscross each other at 9 points, within a bearing surface of about 12.7 square inches.

Seals Make the Difference

All Kaiser Qwik Kits have seals to keep the grease in and grit and dirt out. The bushing assembly has seals built into the steel sleeve at each end. At final assembly the pin can be tapped into the spring eye without disturbing the sealing action. This also applies to the shackle bracket.
The seals have been engineered to improve grease distribution by allowing

the grease to fill the grease cavity and then pass through the grease seal each end of the bushing assembly.
All applications (except 1" and 1 1/4") have quad ring seals held in place with snap rings each end, which keeps the grease in place and the dirt and grit out.
The 1" and 1 1/4" applications have a steel backed lip seal engineered to seal grease in and withstand grit, dirt and caustic solutions from the environment.
Each application has proven seal advantages by taking grease time after time without fail.
When greasing, grease travels through the pin from the grease fitting to a center distribution port. This port is at the center

of the double figure eight grease groove on the pin. Grease flows in each direction along the grease grooves to the seals. Because the seals are one way, the grease will pass but keep the environment out. Old grease is flushed out and replaced with new at each greasing.
The Kaiser spiral steel grease grooved bushing along with the grease grooved pin provide more grease capacity and Kaiser seals keep the grease in and working. Longer life with less maintenance can be expected from the Kaiser Spring Qwik Kit.
Greasing can be done on the ground while the vehicle is fully loaded, no "jackup" is necessary.

KAISER SAVINGS

  • Eliminates reaming bushings to size.

  • Minimum tear down; repair can be done in about half the time it would normally take.

  • All work can be done on the vehicle in the shop without outside labor.

  • Special training is not required to do the job.

  • Grease grooved pins and bushings provide 300% more grease capacity making an easy task of maintenance.
